This Act has been passed to provide for the grant of National and Festival Holidays to persons employed in Industrial Establishments in the State of Tamil Nadu. This Act provides for the grant of paid holidays for five festival and four national holidays, i.e. 26th January, the 15th August, the 2nd October and on 1st May each year to every person employed in an Industrial Establishment in the State.
