This Act regulates the conditions of work in Catering Establishments. This Act provides for weekly holidays, periods of work, leave with wages, overtime wages, etc., in respect of those employed in Catering Establishments. Assistant Inspectors of Labour, Deputy Inspectors of Labour and Inspectors of Labour have been notified as Inspectors under this Act and they are enforcing this Act and Rules.
For the purpose of effective enforcement of the provisions of the Act, and for the employers to correct themselves by realising the ir commissions and omissions the “Inspectors” notified under the Act are empowered for compounding of offences for the contravention’s noticed during their inspection.
