  • Enhanced the monthly pension from Rs.300/- to Rs.400/-w.e.f. 1.7.2007 to the Registered construction workers who have attained 60 years of age (G.O.No.492 Dated:28.6.2007 L & E Department)

  • Announced Training to 200 Registered construction workers in Chennai District in 5 categories like mason, plumber, electrician,painter and carpenter , to improve their skill. ( G.O. No. 519 Dated: 9.7.2007 L & E Department)

  • Announced opening of 15 new district offices with 6 staff and 4 additional staff to the existing 15 district offices . ( G. O. No. 25 Dated : 8.2.2007 L & E Department )

  • Announced Decentralisationof sanction and disbursement of scheme assistance to the Registered construction workers at district level in respect of Education Assistance , Maternity Assistance and Funeral Assistance w.e.f. 8.10.2007. ( G.O. No.200 Dated : 8.10.2007 L & E Department )

  • Announced formation of Monitoring committees at District level Headed by District Collectors to Monitor the execution of various schemes w.e.f. 1.6.2007.

  • Announced Decentralisation of sanction and disbursement of scheme assistance to the Registered construction workers at district level creating Labour Officer (Social Security Scheme) in the districts and they will look after all the schemes assistances to the registered construction workers and issued amendments in G.O. No.122, L & E Department, Dated : 24.10.2008.

  • Announced opening of 1 new district Labour Officer (S.S.S) Scheme office at Tiruppur with a total strength of 11 staff's sanctioned. ( G.O. No.85 L & E Department, Dated : 6.7.2009)

  • Ordered training for 200 workers of Chennai District in five categories like Mason, Plumber, Painter, Electrician and Carpenter through ITI to increase their efficiency. (G.O. No.143 Dated : 4.02.2008 L & E Department )

  • Smart cards for Rashtriya Swasthya Bima Yojana (RSBY) under below poverty lines (BPL) families in Kancheepuram and Tirunellveli districts issued. In Kancheepuram district 59,668 (upto 30.06.2009) and 90,701 (upto 30.09.2009) in Tirunellveli district so far issued. (G.O. No.16 Dated : 20.2.2008 L & E Department and G.O.   • In the year 2009 -2010, the Government have issued orders for the distribution of Nose Mask, Hearing aid machines and Training to the Registered Construction Workers. ( G.O. No.639 Dated : 23.11.2009 L & E Department )
  • Provision of Additional Skill Development Training to the 430 Registered Construction Workers of Chennai, Dharmapuri, Vellore, Madurai and Thoothukudi Districts through respective district Government ITIs. Government Order (Ms) No.90 Labour & Employment (I2) Department) dated:05.03.2013.
  • Conducting awarness camps on the schemes provided by unorganised welfare boards in each districts. Government Order (Ms) No.101 Labour & Employment (II) Department) Dated:20.03.2013.
  • Enhancement of Educational Assistance for Higher Education to the tune of Rs. 2000/- per academic year per student. Government Order (Ms) No. 103 Labour & Employment (II) Department Dated:25.03.2013.
  • Provision of Artificial limbs and Wheel chair to the disabled registered construction workers. Government Order (Ms) No.104 Labour & Employment (II) Department dated:25.03.2013.
  • Construction of Integrated office complex for Labour Department at Trichy, Tanjore, Nagapatnam, Pudukottai, Perambalur, Cuddalore, Vellore, Dharmapuri, Salem, Namakkal, Erode, Karur, Dindigal, Kanyakumari and Nilgiris (20 Districts) at the cost of Rs. 40.50 Crores from the funds of the Tamil Nadu Construction Workers Welfare Board.   • Conducting awareness on safety training by the Director, Industrial Safety and Health, Chennai, for the workers employed in building and other construction activities and also to their employees at the cost of Rs. 0.32 Crore from the cess fund of Tamil Nadu construction Workers Welfare Board.   • Contribution to the Construction Workers Welfare fund - Rate of contribution fixed at 1% vide G.O (Ms) No 295 (Labour and Employment (I2) Department) dated 17.12.2013.
