These posts have been sanctioned with a view to ensure effective implementation of the Labour Legislations with particular reference to Women/Child labour in establishments other than factories.
The Assitant Commissioner Of Labour (Women Welfare) have been notified as Inspectors under the various Labour Legislations which apply to Women and Child Labour. These officers are located in Chennai, Tirunelveli and Coimbatore. They have also been notified as "Inspectors" under the Minimum Wages Act, 1948.
