The Commissioner of Labour is competent to appoint officers up to the level of Deputy Inspectors of Labour and transfer and posting of officers up to the level of Assistant Commissioners of Labour. He is also competent to impose punishment up to dismissal for all officers up to the level of Deputy Inspectors of Labour and minor punishments like stoppage of increment to officers up to the level of Deputy Commissioners of Labour.
